Long Island is served by two year-round
ferry lines that cross Long Island Sound and connect Port
Jefferson to Bridgeport, Connecticut and Orient Point to New
London, Connecticut.
Sometimes getting there is half the fun. A
ferry trip is transportation as well as an enjoyable boat
ride. And if you want to visit the Long Island resort
communities on Fire Island, where no cars are allowed, the
only way is in to take one of the six passenger ferry routes.
You can get from the North Fork to the
south Fork of Long Island through Shelter Island using two
short ferry rides. All Long Island ferries are listed below:
