The Sound to Bay Firemen’s 10K
Course: Unique point to point race from Iron Pier Beach on the Sound in Jamesport to the Town Beach on Peconic Bay in Jamesport. After a hill in the first 1/2 mile, the rest is a scenic and relatively flat course, past vineyards, horse corrals, orchards, through the historic hamlet of South Jamesport, to the bay and beach.
Registration: You must park and register at the finish line at Town Beach Road and Peconic Bay Boulevard, between 7:00-8:30 AM, so that you can be bussed to the starting area on the Sound.
Cost: $15 pre-registration (post marked on or before 8/21/02, guaranteed a T-shirt); Race Day registration $20 (t-shirts while supplies last).

Directions: LIE east to last exit-73, east on Rt. 58 which turns into Rt. 25, make right at South Jamesport Ave. (at traffic light in hamlet of Jamesport), continue south to stop sign and make left onto Peconic Bay Blvd., then follow signs to parking at Town Boat Ramp Facility and also on St. Mary’s Drive.
Awards: Awards to top male and female runners and top 3 in each category, male and female: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Also awards to top 3 Fire Department and Peace/Police Officer finisher.
Race entry includes: T-shirt, post-race raffle (must be present to win) & award ceremony, use of beautiful Riverhead Town Beach for the day (go swimming!), water stops (1,2,3, and 5 miles), food & refreshments, medical aid, & hopefully some music along the way.
